They are made from cotton with a padded interlining and linen binding around the bottom edge.
When I was wee, there was a campaign by the British Egg Marketing Board that had the slogan 'Go to work on an egg'.
I'm not sure that the Egg Marketing Board still exists but 'egg and soldiers' or 'egg in a cup' is still one of my favourite comfort foods.
Oh - one more thing.....how many of you take the empty eggshell, turn it upside down then bash the bejeesuz out of it? Do you know why you do it?
