tartan lobster

Hello!

I'm Fran and I'd like to welcome you to tartan lobster where you can see the results of my adventures with bits of fabric and the 'Mechanical Beastie with the Jaggy Needles' (I only call him a sewing machine when he behaves and doesn't chew things!)

The name 'tartan lobster' is inspired by a childhood growing up by the sea on the east coast of Scotland. My aunties taught me how to sew and it's been my favourite pastime ever since (though 'him indoors' reckons I'm really just curating a fabric museum in the spare room!!)

The names and descriptions of many of items I make reflect the rich language and culture of life in a small fishing village. Don't worry if some of the words are unfamiliar - I'll include explanations.
